Does BluePrint Engines tune the carburetor before or after dyno testing?

No. BluePrint Engines does not fine tune carburetors before or after dyno testing. While carbureted engines are dyno tested to verify engine operation and performance, final carburetor tuning is the responsibility of the vehicle owner after the engine is installed in the vehicle.

 Why Doesn't BluePrint Fine Tune the Carburetor?

Carburetor calibration is highly dependent on the environment and vehicle combination in which the engine operates. Factors that affect carburetor tuning include:

  • Altitude
  • Temperature
  • Humidity
  • Fuel quality
  • Air cleaner design
  • Exhaust system configuration
  • Vehicle weight and gearing
  • Transmission type

Because these variables differ from one vehicle and location to another, carburetor settings that perform well in a dyno cell may not be optimal once the engine is installed in the customer's vehicle.

What Is Included During Dyno Testing?

Blueprint Engines dyno tests carbureted engines to:

  • Verify proper engine operation
  • Confirm oil pressure and temperature control
  • Check for leaks or abnormal conditions
  • Validate engine performance

Dyno testing is not intended to provide final carburetor calibration for a specific customer application.
