How Do I Read My BluePrint Dyno Sheet?

Every dyno-tested BluePrint Engine includes a dyno sheet showing horsepower, torque, engine RPM, and other testing data. Understanding what those numbers mean will help you better understand your engine's performance and setup.

A dyno sheet is a record of your engine's performance during BluePrint's dyno testing process.

The dyno sheet shows:

Why Are Horsepower And Torque Different?

Why Doesn't My Vehicle Feel Like The Dyno Sheet?

The dyno sheet reflects engine performance under controlled testing conditions.

Once installed in a vehicle, performance is influenced by:

  • Vehicle weight
  • Transmission type
  • Converter selection
  • Rear gear ratio
  • Exhaust system
  • Air cleaner assembly
  • Fuel quality
  • Altitude
  • Weather conditions

As a result, your vehicle may not perform exactly like the dyno cell environment.


Does The Dyno Sheet Represent Flywheel Horsepower?

Yes.

BluePrint dyno sheets reflect engine output measured directly at the engine.

Vehicle chassis dyno numbers are typically lower because drivetrain losses occur through:

  • Rear axle
  • Wheels and tires

What Fuel Was Used During Dyno Testing?

Your dyno sheet and engine specifications will identify the fuel requirements for your engine combination.
