# What Are the Specifications for the Discontinued BluePrint Engines BP3023CTC Ford 302 Engine?

 Basic Engine Specifications

- **Displacement:** 302 CID (5.0L)
- **Engine Family:** Ford Small Block
- **Model Years Represented:** 1981-1986 style 302
- **Camshaft:** Hydraulic flat tappet
- **Pistons:** Hypereutectic
- **Rear Main Seal:** One-piece rear seal
- **Intake Manifold:** Dual-plane
- **Fuel System:** Carbureted
- **Distributor:** HEI-style distributor
- **Oil Pan:** Front sump
- **Dipstick Location:** Timing cover
- **Balance:** 50 oz external balance front and rear

 Firing Order **1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8** This engine uses the standard Ford 302 firing order. Performance Specifications

- **Compression Test:** 170-190 PSI
- **Minimum Dyno Horsepower:** 235 HP
- **Minimum Dyno Torque:** 317 lb-ft
- **Oil Pressure:** 40 PSI minimum

 Timing Specifications

- **Initial Timing:** 10°-16° BTDC
- **Total Timing:** 32°-34° BTDC

 Important Notes

- Requires a **50 oz weighted flywheel or flexplate**
- Requires a **50 oz harmonic balancer**
- Uses a **front-sump oil pan**
- Dipstick installs through the **timing cover**
- Engine is painted **Ford Blue**
- Uses a **flat tappet cam**, so proper break-in oil should be used
