What Fan Do We Recommend Running With SBC Deluxe Dress Engines (With Water Pump)?

SBC Deluxe Dress engines equipped with a water pump can be run with either a mechanical fan or an electric fan setup.

Recommendations:

  • Standard mechanical fans are acceptable.
  • Electric fans are also acceptable when properly sized for the application.
  • We do not recommend using fan spacers.
  • We do not recommend older, heavy clutch fan assemblies, as the additional weight can place unnecessary stress on the water pump bearings.

For best cooling performance, a properly fitted fan shroud is recommended whenever possible.

 You can run either a mechanical fan or electric fans with our SBC Deluxe Dress engines. We do not recommend using fan spacers or older heavy clutch fan assemblies due to the additional load they place on the water pump. A standard mechanical fan or a properly sized electric fan setup will work well.
