      Valve Cover Installation Instructions

      Outside Perimeter Bolt Valve Covers

       

      1. When installing outside perimeter bolt valve covers on aluminum heads, Threebond 1217H must be used in the slots located on each side of the four valve cover bolt holes.
      • Spray thinner into the slots located on each side of the four bolt holes.
      • Blow away thinner and oil with compressed air.

      2. Apply a small amount of ThreeBond 1217H in all eight slots around the bolt holes.

      • The Threebond must be level with, or about the top of the slots.
      • Keep the Threebond to the outer edged of the bolt holes.

      3. Apple 3m super weather stripping and gasket adhesive to the gasket.

      • Make sure you get the sealant around the bolt holes.

      4. You will be using a cork gasket for these Valve Covers.

      5. Place the gasket on the Valve Cover immediately.
      • The gasket sealer will DRY VERY FAST!
      6. Install the Valve cover hold downs.
