What oil cooler bypass do I select for my Big Block Chevy engine with my oil cooler?

If you are using an oil cooler, the correct bypass must be used. Please use the directions below for selecting correct oil cooler bypass:

You have to measure the pressure drop between the outlet and inlet to know what your oil cooler setup is going to cause in reduction in oil pressure or how much static loss your system is going to give.  That way you will pick out the right bypass that is slightly higher than your drop so that it isn't tripping all the time and bypassing the oil cooler all the time. But not too high that it won't bypass when the cooler clogs and starve the engine.

We recommend the following GM bypasses, select the correct PSI after measuring your pressure drop:

GM25013759 - 10 PSI

GM25013765 - 20 PSI

GM25161284 - 30 PSI
