Why Does My BluePrint Engine Crank But Not Start?
What Should I Check First?
Verify the following:
- Battery is fully charged
- Fuel is reaching the engine
- Spark is present
- Ground connections are secure
- All wiring connectors are plugged in
- Distributor timing is correct (if equipped)
Common Causes
Incorrect Distributor Installation
A distributor installed one tooth off or with incorrect plug wire routing can cause a crank-no-start condition. Verify firing order and distributor position.
Check:
- Fuel level
- Fuel pressure
- Fuel pump operation
- Fuel filter condition
No Spark
Check:
- Coil connections
- Distributor wiring
- Ignition box wiring
- Spark plug wire routing
Poor Ground Connections
Verify:
- Battery-to-engine ground
- Engine-to-chassis ground
- Clean ground contact surfaces
Poor grounds can prevent ignition and EFI systems from operating correctly.
