ZF Shifter And Harness Compatibility Update

 What Is The Issue?

A wiring discrepancy was identified in the ZF shifter harness due to a software revision in the shifter control module.

As part of the revision:

  • The CAN+ communication circuit was reversed
  • The CAN− communication circuit was reversed

This change can create compatibility issues when certain shifters are paired with newer harnesses.

Do I Need To Return My Engine?

No.

The engine does not need to be returned to BluePrint.

The:

  • ECU calibration
  • Transmission calibration
  • ECU programming

are already up to date.

This issue can be resolved by replacing the affected ZF shifter components.

How Do I Determine Which Parts I Need?

Customers must provide a photograph of the ZF shifter serial number for verification.

The serial number location should be clearly visible in the photo.

ZF Shifter Serial Number 40 Or Below

If the ZF shifter serial number is:

40 or below

BluePrint will provide:

  • New ZF shifter
  • New ZF shifter harness
ZF Shifter Serial Number 41 Or Higher

If the ZF shifter serial number is:

41 or higher

BluePrint will provide:

  • New ZF shifter harness only

A replacement shifter is not required.

What Symptoms Might Be Present?

Affected units may experience communication or compatibility concerns due to the CAN circuit configuration differences between older ZF shifters and newer harness revisions.

  • Shifter communication issues
